During 2024, Dementias Platform UK has: 

  • leveraged a further £12.5m in funding for dementia research
  • launched the Blood Biomarker Challenge project READ-OUT
  • increased our Great Minds register to >11,700
  • expanded our trials network to 64 sites
  • recruited to 28 studies
  • enrolled >1,300 to the FAST multi-modal biomarker study
  • reached >2,300 data access requests (>33% year-on-year increase)
  • achieved >1,100 Data Portal users in 44 countries
  • uploaded 135k brain images, and 30Tb of genomics data, with pre-processing pipelines
  • deployed data and metadata-led federated analysis (first in UK)
  • enhanced the scope of our Data Portal to include MND, Traumatic Brain Injury, and neurological tissue
