Dishaa Sinha

Research Assistant and DPhil student

Dishaa is a DPhil student in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, based at the Dementias Platform UK (DPUK). She is supervised by Dr Ivan Koychev and Professor Alejo Nevado-Holgado. Her research explores early detection of Alzheimer’s disease through non-invasive, accessible approaches combined with machine learning such as olfactory testing, speech, and fluid biomarkers. She is especially interested in how everyday experiences like changes in smell, sleep, or language can offer insight into brain health.

Alongside her doctoral studies, Dishaa works as a Research Assistant within the department. She coordinates the FAST Brain Health Study, a multi-site pilot linking cognition and blood-based markers, and contributes to the management of the Great Minds register, a UK-wide research resource. Her work involves participant coordination, data collection, data analysis, and providing support to studies using the platform.

Dishaa previously completed an MSc in Clinical Neurology at the University of Sheffield and holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from MIT ADT University, India. Her work is guided by a strong interest in practical, inclusive solutions that are both scientifically sound and sensitive to the needs of diverse populations.
