DPUK is committed to internationalising access to datasets. Professor John Gallacher recently addressed a Summit in Washington DC about the high value of data sharing to advance dementia research.

It is especially valuable to reach out to the USA which has a strong interest in the advances we have made in the structure, curation, ontology and ease-of-use of DPUK’s world-leading Data Portal.

Director of Dementias Platform UK, Professor John Gallacher, has returned from attending the triannual NIH Alzheimer’s Disease Research Summit where a multi-stakeholder community of government, industry, academia, and patient advocacy groups explored ways to further integrated, translational Alzheimer’s research.

teh theme of the 2024 Summit was 'Building a Precision Medicine Research Enterprise'.

The goal of the summit was to accelerate the development of effective, disease-modifying, and palliative therapies for the cognitive as well as neuropsychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease.

John Gallacher, the only international speaker, presented on the utility of the DPUK data portal and other infrastructure and the benefits of building a knowledge network for precision medicine.
